Blind Guardian!

I've just found them at youtube... They are awesome!

Bard's song is soo fun to play at guitar

Blind guardian got me into power metal with the song mirror mirror. And i still love it!!!
If is would call one band kings of power metal, it would be BG
Of course there will be people with other opinions, but let it be so

i have always thought that 'Lord Of The Rings' by Blind Guardian should have been the theme song for the real LOTR movies

but yeah blind guardian have loads of other great songs

They were my first power metal band. When I heard they had a whole album about the Silmarillion... I had to have them
Incidentally, Nightfall in Middle Earth is one of the most perfect albums ever made.

lord of the rings is the ultimate in epic fantasy literature and blind guardian captures it perfectly

well yeah, but i mean that other songs of blind guardian are totally different and some of those might be uploaded too

He doesn't mean the song "Lord of the Rings", just that LotR is the ultimate fantasy world and BG does a good job capturing it in Nightfall in Middle Earth.

but either way, i will upload more blind guardian

the problem is, i had a different account a few months ago that none of you will know about because it wasnt dedicated to metal as this one is, and i uploaded 3 blind guardian songs, battlefield, another stranger me and majesty

another stranger me and majesty got taken down because of copyright issues , so i guess BG are a band that you have to be careful which songs you upload

I also got into power metal through Blind Guardian. (Always loved metal, just wasn't too privy to this sub genre.) If you want to add more, I'd definitely second The Bard's Song (In the Forest) & Mirror Mirror. Also I'd add And the Story Ends to the list.

And what about Demons & Wizards? (Not sure if it deserves its own thread, but Hansi is in it.)

I just listened to them they're sweeeeet!!!!

And I've just downloaded their latest album. About to listen to it!

Just make sure you get Nightfall in Middle Earth. (ESPECIALLY if you've read The Silmarillion.) Also, do whatever you have to in order to watch the Imaginations Through the Looking Glass DVD. Greatest concert.....EVAR!

I haven't read the Tolkien books and I'm not a fan of LotR either. The story just isn't so good in my opinion and it's complicated too.

Complicated, sure, but that doesn't make it bad (I'll stop my rant here before I get too into it).
But you should still get Nightfall, though you may not appreciate it as much if you really don't like the story.

I second that. (And also not going into rant territory for fear of creating a 75 page post.) If it would help, download the audiobook of it. The Silmarillion reads like a history book at times, so even if you DID read the other books, it can be quite a difficult read. If you don't want to do it now, at least tuck it in the back of your mind because you might want to after falling in love with the album. (Hansi--the singer/writer--has a way of making you catch up on your classic/epic literature. I had to pick up The Dark Tower series because of The Crimson King album by Demons & Wizards.)

Yes I will probably download a discography since the band is F*** GOOD!!! (just listened to the whole album)

What do you think about their latest album compared to the older ones?

I like their new album. Hansi's voice is quite different in it. sounds like they may have messed around with it in the studio more than in previous albums. Overall, it does have a more modern sound to it (duh, its newer ) so it doesn't sound very much like their older stuff, but it is still worth getting, I think.

Yeah just like DF, this latest album sounds really different.
