Just realized I hadn't posted Fairyland in the power metal bands section, but after listening (extensively) to their latest album, I think it's about time I did. I posted a review of their album in the album reviews section which pretty much no one looked at.....
Seriously, I'm truly surprised there aren't any Fairyland fans on this forum, they're one of the best symphonic power metal acts to ever exist. Is it the band name turning ya'll off? Doesn't matter, I'm going to whore them consistently.
Best Song from Score to a New Beginning
best Song from Of Wars In Osyrhia
Best song from Fall of an Empire

I definitely recommend 'Score To A New Beginning'. It's the most impressive album I've heard so far in '09. And I've heard a lot of impressive albums ;D

I agree! I had mixed thoughts about a few songs (A Soldier's Letter for example!), but after a few listen, they're awesome!!! :o

Well, the first time I listened to it, I couldn't help myself but hear some "Letter to Dana" and "Replica" sound-alike parts everywhere in the song :o
That turned me off

In 2 minutes? You rock!
But yeah, Just listen to the beginning of Letter to Dana (actually, not the beginning, my mistake! start at 1min20sec!), and the beginning of A Soldier's Letter, even tho some notes are different, and the tempo is a tiny little bit different, it still sounds alike... IMO. (ex, starting at 20 seconds, it just sounds so much like the chorus of Letter to Dana... )
In fact, the part from 20 sec to 1:40 (before the ubx0r chorus) sounds like an edited version of Letter to Dana (ok, much edited, but still! )
Don't get me wrong, perhaps this is only the sound of a masterpiece!

I like fairies, I took a "Which Mythological Beast are you?" Quiz recently, and I put all of the answers that would've probably correlated with a phoenix or a dragon. No of course, I got a fairy, which is apparently "Brave, aggressive, heroic, and wise".

I'm quite familiar with the songs and i skip to the different verse and chorus sections ;p
I still don't see what you're saying...but i guess a lot of people see their favorite songs in other songs, even if the similarity is at an extreme minimum.
Like the people who repeatedly accuse almost every power metal song of ripping off their favorite ACDC songs due to the small number of rock/metal riffs that everyone uses >.>
