lets all rewrite something about those living gods....we should not let this thread fall back. There is no greater band than Maiden thats for sure although not my favorite one i think. COB and Maiden are on the first place of my list however their style is completely different

Iron Maiden are my favourite band and I doubt that will ever change.
I have had LastFM for about 3 months now and have scrobbled 9105 tracks.
1657 of these are Iron Maiden so that is 18.12%

Maiden was the band that got me into metal to start with, it was also my first metal show in the pit ever, almost 3 years ago... I love 'em!

Iron Maiden is easily one of the greatest bands in the history of mankind.
(I don't think I'd be considered a new member, eh? )
I haven't heard a song from them I've disliked.
I wish more metal bands today had lyrics like theirs. They're very entertaining, and often educational. And always tell a great story.

I agree! I remember once, it was a couple of years ago, in History class, our teacher asked us a question about antic Greece, and I somehow was the only one who knew the answer... They were in the lyrics of my favorite song at that time: Alexaaander the Greaaat! (I don't remember the question ^^)

I never could get into Iron Maiden ;p as far as old-school metal goes, i prefer Judas Priest though neither are among my favorite bands

One of the GREATEST METAL BANDS to ever step on stage!!!Just got done watching their show in Rio on T.V and damn I don't know where Bruce gets all that energy from put they need to find away to bottle it and sell it as an energy drink.And the bass player I forget his name at the moment but he fuckin kicks ass .Fuck U2 Fuck The Rolling Stones Fuck The Beatles give me Maiden any night of the week!!!!!!

Could we get Iron Maiden out of Power Metal Bands and into Other Metal? They aren't power metal.

Check Iron Maiden's Metal Archives and Wikipedia page for proof. They are heavy metal, or more specifically, new wave of British heavy metal.
