Kickass Canadian band I found a few days ago thanks to a recommendation from a mate. They're quite like Equilibrium, I think.

ah yes, they have been on my last.fm recommendations for a good while now, but I only started following up my recommendations a couple of days ago. Blackguard were one of the next ones I was going to look into - but if they're like Equilibrium.....

I saw them live with SwashBuckle, Moonsorrow, Primordial and Korpiklaani in Quebec City. Great show, great band.

They're awesome!!! A true Quebec metal band and I didn't even know them!!! How is this possible?? This band shows that Quebec has talent!!

Well they formed in '08, so it's understandable, I think. LOL. So they have a very long way to go

Actually, they formed in 2001. They released 2 albums as Profugus Mortis, but when their violinist left (in 2008), they changed their name to Blackguard, and they released an album called Profugus Mortis.
