I think he meant more of an "idea" than a philosophy. :p
My questions go on and on about stuff like this. First off, how did I get here. Why am I on this planet? Why is anyone? Why is this planet in this galaxy? Why are any planets in this galaxy? Is there life on other planets? Why is this galaxy in the universe? Why does the universe exist? Why does anything whatsoever exist?
The thought of the universe existing period seems impossible itself.
Anyway, for me, religion has always been something I've struggled with. I was always that five year old who question how God could have been here for all eternity. My parents and other adults always looked at me, appalled, shocked over how I could say such a thing. My doubt started to come back at 12 when I was more exposed to other religions; I asked how mine could be the right one. I also had an Islamic friend at the time, and it just made me mad that, if my God was the right one, why he would let someone who was born into another religion go to hell. It just seemed unfair. At 14, I basically became an atheist for quite some time. My parents didn't know, and still don't now. I was lucky that I had a friend who became one as well. We found it funny how teachers and some fellow students looked down upon us. Others just found us to be total bad asses, and found it to be so awesome that we didn't answer to anyone. =P But now, I'm more confused than anything. I see certain bits of "proof" with creationism and bits of "proof" of evolution. It's just confusing. So if creationism turns out to be right, I'm going to hell. Otherwise, I'm just going to rot in the ground. Pretty hard stuff to accept.

I see what you mean there. I too am an Atheist but I think even if Evolution was proved to be a lie that I would still be an Atheist because there is no way to prove creationism correct.
Evolution had nothing to do with me turning an Atheist.
I'd be fine with going nowhere when I die.

Religion is quite complicated... But TcJacko, if he want, could have started a religion with this simple idea. You can make a religion about and with everything, and if it makes a bit of sense and that you got a lot of supporters, then, a religion can born, this is why most of the religions are bullshit...
I was Buddhist when I was 10 and 11 (cause my mom is Thaï), I wasn't going to the temple or anything so one day, I decided that I wasn't Buddhist because I wasn't meditating and everything, and believe in Buddha is not the same thing with believe in God cause Buddha existed, and it was proved many times (not like God), but people think that Buddhists actually believe that Buddha was the creator (like Christians believe that God is the creator) which is not true, cause, for the Buddhists, Buddha is a prince who developed a philosophy... So, people consider Buddhist a religion which is not true...
Today, I'm an atheist. So I consider my self never been a religious... Or maybe when I was 9... I was playing Age Of Mythology a lot so I thought they were real gods (I was too young to understand they never existed...).

Watch Religulous and Jesus Camp.
Religulous is hilarious but Jesus Camp is sickening.

Yeah, saw Jesus Camp a long time ago, religion is imo one of the worst social diseases in current society.
I myself was raised Catholic until a certain age (12 I think, don't remember) because that was the norm of our society. Now, I can't believe in something which should be so powerfull as God, doesn't do jack-shit about anything negative on this planet. If he was almighty as they say he is, why did he make his creations so "broken" to a note where we corrupt and destroy everything we as Man touch. Why did God just not make humans (or everything else for that matter) all positive (meaning having no negative emotions, feelings, desires, ...)?
But on-topic, I don't believe in any form of an afterlife, we die, rot and leave this planet at some time.
Besides, I can understand people having doubts about the Evolution Theory of Darwin but people actually doubt evolution over time like a baby evolving and changing to an adult.
It's funny, people looking at us and saying we'll burn in hell for not believing in God, but if actually we are right, we won't burn in hell.
Btw, Bill O'Reilly's conversation with Richard Dawkins on the O'reilly Factor about atheism was so funny.

I don't think there was a start to the world - there's a genius theory going round that I believe, about how we are actually aliens from another planet who raided the Earth. But why would we move from another planet to a planet that has disadvantages of it's own? I know exactly why.
Well, first of all, the planet that we came from must have been completely impossible to live on. Do we know of such a planet? Yes.
Venus' atmosphere is covered with Carbon Dioxide and Sulphuric Acid.
So what I think here is that, we used to live on Venus, but the same happened to that what is happening to Earth right now - it's losing Oxygen and gaining Carbon Dioxide.
When we crashed here however, we all died in the explosion, because we failed to land in the sea. Except for two people, who survived. I wonder if this part explains why so many people think that Adam and Eve were real. Two people who continued life forever. It's not a bad theory at all.

Speaking of Dawkins, can you believe this guy (Ray Comfort, who debated Thunderf00t) wants to challenge him to a debate?
Little did he know that Bananas are one of the four foods us humans have genetically modified. The other three being Strawberries, pineapples and sweet peppers.
(There might be more, I only know of four though.)

This is a very important topic for me, so let me get some things out of the way for you guys.
I'm Christian, I was saved about.... a year and a half ago. I do not like associating myself with a denomination, because "as some of you have said" organized religion just causes strife and wars. As far as what happens when we die? We are judged according to the Bible (according to the book of Revelations) and some of us go to Heaven, and some of us go to Hell.
