This is a great melodic death metal band, maybe one of the greatest.

I'd say they are Melodic Black Metal... But this is me... And the song was awesome... But... I don't know why... I don't really like the sound of the drum snare.

Well, I'm not really knowledgeable of both Black Metal and Melodic Death Metal, but isn't Black Metal usually with a gruffier, raspier guitar tone, the vocals also gruffier, more from the throat and the drums more monotonous than Death Metal in general?

Ah well, whatever the sub-genre it is, it's still metal and it kicks ass.

Yes... You're right... But this is why I don,t call it Black Metal BUT Melodic Black Metal... But you're right... As long it's good...

the line between melodic black metal and melodic death metal gets pretty fuzzy to be honest. It's two competing metal brands taking a component such as melody and making it work.

Melodic death usually has more understandable lyrics and a more prominent melody (though not always the case). Melodic black almost always makes melody less prominent (not always though) in an attempt to stay true to the genre's roots as an underground extreme metal style (though this is just plain silly).

I must say though, the posted song sounds like straight up death metal

Thanks for the background information, I'm not really into Black metal or Melodeath metal.

I have heard this band being labelled as all kinds of genres, but it's metal, and it's damn good.

It's metal, it doesn't suck, and you like it: so I got no problem with it. I imagine though this is one of those bands fans would argue over genre in every youtube comment section xD

That's not really the main reason of argument and discussion. It's about the drummer and who the fastest one is, Joey Jordison or this one. That has been the root of nearly every discussion concerning Vornagar.

I think he got thousands and thousands of fans because of his drumming when spinning or something like that. I saw a video about Joey Jordison's drum being lifted a bit and being turned a bit while still performing.
Can't say I hate Joey or hate Slipknot, they are pretty meh in my eyes. Atleast it's better than 50 cent or Little Wayne.
