ENSIFERUM - FROM AFAR

Finnish Folk Metal Masters are going to dominate yet again with their upcoming album "From Afar"
It's due on September 9 via Spinefarm Records. The CD was produced by Tero Kinnunen (NIGHTWISH, AMORPHIS) and Janne Joutsenniemi ('Victory Songs' producer) and was mixed by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, SENTENCED, AMORPHIS).

So. I Think September is going to be the greatest month of 2009.
Sonata Arctica concert, Sonata Arctica album, and a lot more I can't remember, but as of now, nothing gets me more happier than the thought of a NEW ENSIFERUM ALBUM!

It's like their debut but more WIIIIIINTER.

when will it be available in the u.s. :*( i somehow doubt walmart will be carrying this one ...........

FYE stores may have it, if there's one near you.

However, it's almost always cheaper and easier to order it online

Also, I'm excited by a new Ensiferum album > Petri did really well on Victory Songs, so I think it will be epic \m/

Not to mention Hinkka's lyrics are as good as Jari's.
Hinkka focuses more on the alcohol and viking themes though, Jari's lyrics were more personal and philosophical. (aka: Token of Time, Abandoned, Tears)

Yeah true, however the sound is still 'Ensiferum' in my opinion, even if the lyrics now fit into a more solid viking mold than Jari's style.

I'd have to say they've released more consistent songs.
I guess it took the first two albums to find that consistency, even though some tracks on Iron and Ensiferum are ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECES!

I enjoy the fact that Iron has the same feel as Wintersun's Wintersun in many of the songs. Both excellent albums for me.

So? I got a job; haha. It would have cost a lot more locally. I don't buy CDs much, but this one was a must-buy.

sry lol not trying to come of as a prick but that is alot for a cd, i try to support my metal
bands as well but i usually give the cd a listen get it if its all good if not then go to itunes or *gasp* even LIMEWIRE!!!
shipping also is where online sites will fuck u over, anywhere from 5 to 20 bucks, and yes right now i dont have a job lol
so ive had to cut back on my expenditures. but hey enjoy your new album vggaamegod!!!!!! ...when it gets there in 3 weeks.....

From Afar might just dethrone Victory Songs as my favorite Ensiferum album
