Best bands by country.

First off, I'd like to state a band's country has nothing to do with whether or not I enjoy their music; this is just a list of bands from different countries I consider superior to other bands from the same country.

U.S.A. I'm starting here because this is where I'm from.
-Riot; awesome metal/rock band, Mike DiMeo is one of my favorite vocalists.
Germany
-Gamma Ray; this one needs no explanation.
Finland
-Nightwish; this was hard, in fact I'd probably have chosen Sonata Arctica if not for Unia. Dreamtale was also a strong contender.
Sweden
-Sabaton; this one is a no brainer, amazing music.
France
-Heavenly; tough choice between Heavenly and Fairyland, but Heavenly is more consistent.
Spain
-Dark Moor; this one is a no brainer.
Canada
-Fogotten Tales; awesome band with extremely good female vocals.
Brazil
-Angra; no brainer, Andre Matos is a metal god.
Italy
-Rhapsody of Fire; no brainer ;P
Japan
-Balflare; think Japanese Sonata Arctica, though the vocals can be weak at times.
U.K.
-Dragonforce; I considered either Judas Priest or Iron Maiden, but I prefer to keep this list somewhat contemporary.
Australia
-Black Majesty; great power metal.


Let's see you guys' lists!

Sweden:
Opeth, hands down, they've mastered music to the point it is more than just music, it's a whole universe.

Germany:
Equilibrium, easily, in the short time they've been active, they've unleashed nothing but their best.

Finland:
Wintersun, just one album required to prove the facts, the next album will only slay the remainders.

France:
Blut aus Nord, AMAZING AMAZING black metal, even today, they hold trve.

Spain:
Dark Moor indeed.

Canada:
Strapping Young Lad, insanity's finest.

Italy:
Lacuna Coil, with the exception of "Shallow Life", which is the St. Anger of gothic/symphonic metal

United Kingdom:
Porcupine Tree, with over 17 albums, EP's, LP's, Live shows, and DVD's, and a great songwriting and production mastermind, this one is set.

Norway:
Emperor, symphonic black metal masterminds, was hard, I wanted to pick Enslaved, but Emperor deserves this no doubt!

Israel:
Melechesh, this highly underrated band deserves full credit for their country for pioneering a different form of folk metal.

Taiwan:
Chthonic, artful symphonic black metal, and a hottie on the bass guitar, what else?

Denmark:
Svartsot, true viking metal warriors.

The Netherlands:
Heidevolk, pagan metal with traditional folk instruments and powerful clean warchants.

Poland:
Behemoth, nearly all of conservative Poland hates them, what more could I ask from them?

United States of (what was it again?):
Atheist and Dream Theater, too hard to pick one over the other!

United Kingdom
Iron Maiden - Who else?

Norway
Mayhem - yeah I know, mainstream black metal but who cares

Sweden
Amon Amarth - every song makes you feel like you are on a longship going across the sea

Finland
Sonata Arctica - one of my favourite bands (and I did think Unia was OK)

USA
Manowar - you have to love them

Poland
Behemoth - great, great band - but also search youtube for 'Vesania - Marduke's Mazemerising' - that looks awesome live - but anyway...Behemoth win

Italy
Elvenking - Let's dance in a forest...now

Germany
Equilibrium - my dearest apologies to Blind Guardian, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Edguy, Running Wild, Grave Digger, Majesty (Metal Force), Freedom Call, Primal Fear, Nargaroth, Falkenbach and Wolfchant.....Germany is my favourite metal country

France
Antaeus - pretty good black metal

Australia
Black Majesty - One of the last bands I put on youtube - surprised the song I put up wasn't on already - great band

New Zealand
Demoniac - I actually love them.....sorry

Great Topic! This is going to be difficult for me as we all have different tastes in the band but i will try and go with the majourity vote for our fave bands.

Spain
AngelDark - Would have put Dark Moor as they are without a doubt amazing but they have been said quite abit already so thought it would be cool to put something a bit different out there and angeldark are an incredible band.

Norway
Dimmu Borgir - Just love the Epic sound with their black metal while still keeping it real and not going a bit floaty like cradle.

Sweden
Arch Enemy - Especially their newer albums. Heavy but at the same time really catchy!

Finland
Nightwish/Sonata Arctica/Stratovarius/Kiuas - This one was just way too hard to agree on we have soo many favourites from finland. Nightwish and Sonata are amazing for their sophisticated song writing but stratovarius was one of the bands that gave birth to dreamcatcher and we are blown away with the new music! Kiuas is new and a little bit of a one trick poney but what they do have is so original and inspiring.

USA
Kamelot - Didnt see em in anyone elses posts as I was scanning through which was a supprise. They are a bit all from everywhere these days but the majourity are from florida so it seems right to put them under america. Kamelot was also another band that gave birth to DreamCatcher.

Poland
Behemoth - I was going to give this to a band called UNSUN but myself and Lucas are both much bigger fans of Behemoth so its just one of those majourity things.

Italy
DGM - You must listen to this band the instant you read this. DGM is an amazing band that is full of intense riffs to amazingly catchy choruses. This band needs the attention they deserve. I will post a link to their music video at the bottom of this post for you to check straight away.

Edguy - This was also very very tough and could have gone to so many bands but Edguy was once again one of the bands that gave birth to DreamCatcher so it just made sense

Brazil
Angra - Another birth band for DreamCatcher and still one of the biggest influences on our music. This band was and are simply incredible, so original. We all love all the music that has come out as a result of angra including
Shaman (old and new)
Almah (old and new lol)
Hangar
Andre Matos

All of these projects have released top quality material but it didnt seem right to put any of them above angra as none of them would have existed without angra.

Netherlands
Epica - Great band with a massive future. Love the new live album with the orchestra!
