Yeah Dave Mackintosh, but he won't live for long, he's going to play the ghost in "Song of the Killer Carp"

he's talented, but he only plays one beat. so i didn't put him up there. if his stuff had variety, he would definitely be up there

variety is not always everything. this is a metal drumming contest, right? so what other genres can he play? funk? jazz? no thanks. dave mackintosh is amazing.

I think balrog is right. He's a fast drummer but he doesn't do much variety.

Big fat second. Also, Mark Cross (Firewind, Helloween, At Vance, Metalium, Winters Bane and more) is up there, amazing drummer, though I voted for Portnoy. The man's a beast.

Pfft, Terrana is such a wanker. It's not like he's a mastermind behind where he plays. Speak of the Dead was written by Peavy
Anyway, Martin Axenrot, Mike Portnoy and Dave Suzuki.

At last we have some American-hating going on. Pathetic.
Edit: I'm not quite sure why I typed that, guess I was in a bad way before work and got all paranoid, lol xD I need to think before I post sometimes - as that is ironic and silly

Very few drummers write music, and I've never seen one who writes a majority of their respective band's music. The only drummers who get popular are popular because they are good at publicity; prime examples being Portnoy and Jordison. Everyone knows Petrucci writes most of DT's music, not Portnoy - despite what he wants you to think

Actually the entire band contributes the music, probably for their own respective parts. Petrucci just writes a majority of the lyrics, especially recently. Back in the "Murr-days", he was one of the prime songwriting talents.

Mike Terrana is just average but he was bitching and moaning in Rage so I am glad he left.
Mike Portnoy, John Myung, Jordan Rudess AND John Petrucci write DT's music. Don't act like you know a thing about one of my favorite bands
