I know kids that love the bass, like a little to much. Everyone talks shit about the bass player but whens the last time you saw a band without a bassist. Heres a couple I like.

Yeah though one of the low points of Power Metal is that the bass parts aren't heard as much in the songs because it usually just follows the same line as the drummer's bass drum.
Especially in Dragonforce.

Oh mos def, but its a price we pay. Anyways, few things ruin a song like an aggravating bass (or horn) solo. I like the role the bass guitar plays in power metal, even though it rarely gets center stage.

It's interesting how the bass can ruin a whole album. I'm talking about Autumnal.

Keys > drums Hitting stuff is good but you can't make awesome songs with only drums.

Terry Bozzio seems to do a good job at it.

I have always thought of Bozzio as a really over-rated drummer... he plays the odd good pieces though..

I will give you the over-rated bit perhaps but I think what it really is, is he doesn't play now the way he used to when he was performing with bands. Case in point Frank Zappas The Black Page
Zappa Plays Zappa - The Black Page (Drums: Terry Bozzio)
or
Zappa Plays Zappa - "Peaches En Regalia (Live)" note Steve Vai also
These are both from Zappa Plays Zappa, of course the original Zappa tracks are probably better but I don't have time to burn these cd's onto my computer and upload right now.
Would you say these are better performances than he is doing now?
