Is there any other female fronted power metal band?
If not, Nightwish are very unique, thats for sure.
I don't listen to them much apart from a couple of songs, like a couple of the Dark Passion Play songs.

What are you guys serious, there's 30 some odd females representing a good couple of bands in the topic "hottest metal singer". If you scroll through and look for the ones I submited you get the band names to. Theres more bands listed than pics on display.

Yes we all know it (a pity). Only good songs from Anette is The Poet And The Pendulum. It is epic. But Ghost Love Score with Tarja beats it easily. Marco, Tuomas, Emppu and Jukka makes the group, singers change. Anette is good in her own way but can't be compared with Tarja. Best Nightwish songs: Dead Boy's Poem, Higher Than Hope, Bless The Child, Ghost Love Score, Creek Mary's Blood, Planet Hell, Beauty Of The Beast, Over The Hills And Far Away, The Phantom Of The Opera cover, The Siren, Dead Gardens, etc, etc... Especially albums Century Child and Once are one of the best metal albums for my opinion.

Dark Passion Play is, imo, their most consistent album. Most of my favorites come from the other Tarja albums, but it's like Ensiferum and Victory Songs. Sometimes an album just delivers a good enough package.

Well of course there are some good songs from Anette (for example Amaranth stays in your head for a long while), but I think they are little bit too poppish... If I want to hear female metal singer's voice, I will listen to Epica, Delain, Xandria or old Nightwish. Dark Passion Play is no match for the good-old Nightwish albums from years 1997-2004. But, the saviour of our ears is here again: Marco Hietala! I think that if Anette gets out of Nightwish (well it is not far, she has very bad problems with being on tour...), after that they should make at least one album just with Marco and maybe some visitors singing (John Two-Hawks back ).
Listen first to Amaranth or Sahara and then listen to Dead To The World or Dead Boy's Poem and decide which song is epic...

Well it was a friend who gave me this link yesterday and after i visited i was completely stunned when i listened to her works. This woman is a dramma opera singer who belonged in an underground band named Elomia. This channel includes mostly covers from the Dark Passion Play album by Nightwish but more of her stuff are coming soon.
