Alestorm

A great folk/power metal band...and they are amazing live...

Anyway though, good band. My favorite is Captain Morgan's Revenge.

It's because most Americans like pop music. I haven't seen any American power metal bands but you're full of pop "musicians".

Alestorm's second album out THIS YEAR! ^^ \m/

A mate of mine noticed an Alestorm cd in HMV the other day. There was only four tracks on it though. Anybody know anything about this?

isnt that a special EP that came out recently

apparantly the first 500 sold (or something like that) came free with a gift (poster?)

Alestorm is great. Also a big fan of the band name itself

I like in that live video how he shouts out "SOLO!" just before the solo starts.

Alestorm kicks ass, there one of the first bands that I picked up from this site. There are some bad Alestorm rip offs out there though.

not an alestorm fan tbh

not just because there scottish and so are we haha i just cant stand continuity and repetition at such a high level, i mean, you can only write so many pirate metal songs before people are going to get bored i think.

Well you see that's the problem of having a strict genre. Songs may get repetitive after a while. But some people don't care.

Alestorm are great they have done some great songs and they are lots of fun. However i can see that such a specific genre will bring complications later down the line when it comes to keeping fresh, their only real way to combat this problem is try and spread out those real 'pirate' moments and fill the songs with more general metal. We will have to see but for now we (dreamcatcher) are not going to knock Alestorm infact we are happy for them and their success! If they come the Yorkshire way we will definately go and give them our support.

They did a tour last year with norther and turisas and played at the cockpit. All 3 bands were amazing at the time i had only heard one song by norther so i was really impressed with them. It was only later that i though wait a minute, that lead singer looks alot like the lead singer of ensiferum haha!
