a slip knot is the knot traditionally used in hangings. the rope 'slips' through the knot for easy slack or easy tightening :o

I used to be that way too, but not anymore... Once you get used to meet your favorite musicians, it just become natural... I remember the first time I was backstage, I couldn't say anything, and I just looked stupid, next to my favorite band, saying nothing...

But eventually, you just get over that feeling... And it's great ^_^ Musicians are very friendly

ZP Theart was really nice to me, and I never even spoke to him. Since I was 14, I was reasonably shorter than many of the people around me at their show. I guess to keep me from feeling left out, he childishly waved at me and stared for like 10 seconds before continuing with the song. XD
The only bad thing is, metal bands never seem to play here, unless they're from here.

That's great ^_^ I used to have the same kind of experiences with bands a few years back... I guess someone young just makes a different impression then someone older... I never spoke with ZP, so I can't tell, but Vadim is a really great person (and a great silly musician ^^), and Drunk Sam is really nice too! I was lucky enough to hang out with them in some MTL pub after their 2007 gig xD

Luckily, that was also after my first bad experience backstage, so it was a lot better But I still do regret some of the reactions I had back then... Like asking for autographs =x God, that just ruins a good time in a pub xD

The best time spent with a band is one where you have the least evidence of.
I did take pictures of Dragonforce though, look on my Myspace.
Lol, Frederic and Vadim stopped in a perfect pose for me and a few people around me to take a picture of. XD
Vadim is really nice, he actually read a message I sent him. I was really close to him when an opener was playing. I had to leave before I could talk to the members, because I had school the next day. Lol. Didn't get home until like 1:30 that morning. And, conveniently, I see no bands coming this summer.

Awww... Yeah, nothing here in summer either... In fact, 80% of the shows here are in September-October... Some in August sometimes... Usually NOTHING during the Winter... Message to bands/labels/promoters: ARE YOU ALL SCARED OF OUR CANADIAN WINTER?

I completely agree with this quote! I personally never bring any camera to a show, exactly not to fall into that trap of filming/taking pictures of everything... I believe the best memories are those experienced/seen through your own eyes... And anyway, there's so much people taking pictures/filming I'm sure to find some (with myself in it sometimes ) on the net

My best show memories are actually pretty fucked up, so much that some of my friends ask for pictures/videos... And then I tell them I don't have any, and they're like: "Then I don't believe you!" and I'm like... OK, I don't care, I know it happened, I don't care if you believe me or not

There is things you just never can forget

Actually, they DO realize that... And that's why they do their summer tours (Festival tours) in the summer... in EUROPE! Because it is way easier and cheaper to tour in Europe than in NA... And for most cases, the crowds are a lot bigger there too... This is something really sad, but metal is really dying in North America, if you don't believe it, just go to Europe for a few gigs, and you'll find out the crowds are 2-3x bigger than what you find here... Edguy can barely sell out a 2k venue here anymore, they can sell 3-4k in Europe...

Epica can barely sell those kind of venues anymore, even Sonata Arctica are starting to have trouble with it! But in Europe, no problems at all...

To give another example... Theocracy! They are from the USA, rarely plays in front of more than 50-100 people (including family of the band members), fly to Europe for a single gig... 500 persons (maybe more!) (including me ^^)

It's just insane the place metal has there... I was talking about it with Rol the other day (drummer from Dignity, ex-drummer from Edenbridge), and he did talk to other bands who agree'd that they're losing their crowds in NA... He did say he thought the same thing was happening in Europe too, but let me tell you it's still nothing like NA... I guess it's due to all those shitty pop acts, and the new "mainstream metal" bands emerging in the US...

I think Tokio Hotel is the worst band name ever... So I'll vote for them!!

Actually I change my mind the worst band name ever is We Butter The Bread With Butter.

Actually... That's apretty funny name but... it's really ridiculous...
