i dont hate screaming. neither do i hate slipknot or any other band that does it. to me, it's just a part of nu metal/death metal. the music is always a deeper pitch than power metal.

okay

black metal is just raw full stop (raw vocals is the best way to describe it)
death metal = growling
power metal = clean vocals plus occasionally a mixture of the other vocal styles


slipknot isn't death metal - arghh i get enough people saying stuff like that at school

slipknot is rap/nu-metal

slipknot rapped to begin with and now they shout, i wouldn't want death metal to be disgraced by slipknot being in that classification

now i don't wholly blame slipknot for this really, it's just the majority of their fans think they are 'hardcore and br00tal' which is very very annoying

joey jordision is a good drummer though (just thought i'd add something good)

Look, there are SHIT bands that scream and there are good ones, you have to look at the options.
I recommend "Death", really such a great band they are and the screaming is decent.
Then you have shit, which is "Bring Me The Horizon" and really, they suck.

But anyway, some screaming vocals are great. Me, I'm a lot less picky when it comes to screams though than most people say some.
Just because i like cradle of filth. Anyway, point is there's the good and there's the bad in every Metal sub-genre and some screaming is great, some isn't.

i used to hate all those, now i listen to alot of Melodic Death metal and a little Black Metal.....:o

of course, i still prefer power metal!!!
